A stroll through Formentera’s best markets

Formentera’s street markets are much more than just stalls where you can buy the best souvenirs. Beyond shopping, they are the perfect place to discover local artisans and artists, as well as to feel the essence of the island in full bloom.

During the months of May to October, you will not only be able to buy local handicrafts, but also an infinite number of original and high-quality items. Apart from all the other attractions in Formentera, we really recommend that you lose yourself in some of its most emblematic markets, which we’ll show you below!

La Savina street market

One of the best-known street markets in Formentera is the one in La Savina. It’s located on the seafront promenade and is perfect for buying clothes, accessories and souvenirs of the island.

This market keeps its doors open all day long, from 11:00 in the morning to 00:00 at night. It’s always a good option to stroll around the stalls in the evening, after sunset, and enjoy the sea breeze while taking a pleasant walk.

If you come to La Savina by car, you should know that parking will not be easy; it’s best to park your vehicle on the outskirts of the town and walk there. On the other hand, if you arrive from Ibiza by boat, this will be your first stop in Formentera.

La Mola street market

The La Mola street market is probably one of the best on Formentera. It is the oldest and most authentic on the island, where many artists and craftsmen exhibit their works, handmade with different materials, like wood, stone or ceramics, among others.

This flea market, which distributes all its stalls around a square, is held on Wednesdays and Sundays, from 16:00 in the afternoon until 22:00 at night. Here you can enjoy your shopping with live music and discover the bohemian atmosphere.

You’ll find it in the square in front of the town’s church, known as Plaza de la Constitución, as well as in the streets closest to the square. Here you will enjoy many stalls, mainly selling clothes, accessories and costume jewellery.

Also, if you’re a fan of second-hand goods, you’ll be pleased to know that a second-hand market is held every Saturday in Sant Francesc, where you can buy anything you can imagine.

Sant Ferran Flea Market
