A Wide Range of Leisure and Entertainment
If you are looking for a peaceful place to escape during your holiday in Ibiza, you will find it in Santa Eulalia! Here, you can enjoy days of rest and relaxation on the beach, leaving aside the island’s nightlife while still having a great time with the wide variety of activities this town offers.
El Puig de Missa
Santa Eulalia is dominated by El Puig de Missa, a hill where you will find a beautiful architectural complex worth visiting. It consists of the church, a small cemetery, and a group of traditional Ibizan houses. In its vicinity, you will also find the Barrau Museum, dedicated to the painter Laureà Barrau, as well as the Ethnography Museum located in the Can Ros house.
You can access it by car, following narrow and steep streets. You can park your vehicle in front of the church. It is a special place, and the spectacular views from the top of Puig de Missa make it worth the visit.
Family Tourism in Es Canar and Cala Llonga
Santa Eulalia has two tourist hubs that offer numerous activities for families with children, such as children’s fairs, zip-line parks, karting circuits, and much more.
In Es Canar, you can enjoy a beach day with the little ones, practice water sports, or visit the Punta Arabí hippy market, one of the most iconic in Ibiza.
The tourist area of Cala Llonga is about five minutes from Santa Eulalia, in a small bay surrounded by pine forests with a beautiful beach. Besides its clear waters, with little wave activity and shallow depth, this beach stands out for its children’s play area right on the sand.
In Cala Llonga, you can practice water sports, stroll among shops and restaurants, buy souvenirs at the hippy market, and even play golf if you fancy.
Seafront Promenade of s’Alameda
Another option to enjoy the family atmosphere in Santa Eulalia is to stroll along the Seafront Promenade, which extends for several kilometres and reaches the river’s mouth at the Mariners’ beach. With numerous terraces, bars, and restaurants, it is always a good alternative for an afternoon walk and an ice cream, a plan the little ones will surely love.
It is worth noting that Santa Eulalia is the only town in Ibiza with a river, which gives the town its name. In the past, this river held a significant amount of water, but today, it only does so during the rainy season.
If you like, there is a walkway near the river’s mouth that leads to Pont Vell, also known as Pont des Molins. This bridge, which used to be the main entrance to Santa Eulària, is now near the Can Planetes River Interpretation Centre, where you can learn about Santa Eulalia’s milling past and appreciate the entire system of channels and irrigation ditches connected to the river.
The Best Hippy Markets in Ibiza are in Santa Eulalia
If you are a market enthusiast, here is another reason to visit Santa Eulalia. This town hosts the two most famous Hippy Markets in Ibiza: Las Dalias, located on the road linking Santa Eulalia and San Carlos, and Punta Arabí, situated in the tourist area of Es Canar, between Cala Martina and Es Canar beaches.
In any case, you can not only buy souvenirs, crafts, or Adlib fashion but also stroll, have a snack, or enjoy the many activities organised.
You can visit the Punta Arabí market every Wednesday, from April to October, from 10 am to 6 pm.
As for Las Dalias, the market is open all year round, but with different hours depending on the season. During July and August, you can visit it on Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm and on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays from 6 pm to midnight.
