There are many beaches in Ibiza and they are all beautiful, but it’s worth going a little further to discover some of the beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag quality distinction.
The Blue Flag has been awarded this year to four beaches in Ibiza, namely: Cala Sant Vicent, Es Figueral, Es Canar and Cala Llenya. These beaches meet a series of requirements related to the quality of the water, the facilities and services they offer, and also the environmental education activities they organise.
Enjoy below the best beaches in Ibiza with a Blue Flag.
Cala de Sant Vicent
Cala de Sant Vicent or San Vincent’s Cove, perhaps better known as Sa Cala, is a fabulous beach, located very close to the town of Sant Carles, in the northern part of Ibiza. From its large sandy area, you can’t miss the unmistakable Tagomago islet.
Next to this beach, you’ll find a promenade full of restaurants, cafés, supermarkets and hotels. However, this cove stands out for its spectacular natural surroundings, with pine trees on both sides of the beach.
In general, it’s a fairly quiet beach, where it’s unusual to find large crowds, with particularly clean waters, which remain crystal-clear all year round.
Es Figueral
Another of Ibiza’s beaches awarded with the Blue Flag quality distinction is Es Figueral, located in Santa Eulària, just a few minutes from Aigües Blanques.
This beach stands out for its beautiful landscape, with forests and cliffs, and for the silhouette of the islet of Tagomago presiding over the horizon.
Es Figueral is renowned for offering a wide variety of services, such as sun loungers and parasols for hire, lifeguard and access for people with reduced mobility, as well as parking and beach bar.
Undoubtedly, it’s a good place to rest and disconnect, and also to go with children. Its clean, shallow waters and the wide range of services on offer make it ideal for children to enjoy.
Cala de Es Canar
The name of this beach may remind you of one of the most popular hippy markets on the island, that of Punta Arabí, which is held in this area every Wednesday during the summer months. This is one of the reasons why this beach has become one of the busiest in Ibiza.
It’s located in one of the most touristy areas of Santa Eulàlia, and is also ideal for children. It has easy access, calm and shallow waters, sun lounger and parasol rental services, showers and lifeguard, as well as a wide variety of options for water sports, restaurants, shops and businesses.
Cala Llenya
You’ll find this beach, also awarded with the Blue Flag, in the town of Santa Eulàlia. It’s a beach with a family atmosphere, surrounded by a magnificent natural environment.
A spacious beach with a wide range of services and easy access, it has a car park, sun lounger and parasol rental service, showers, beach bar, sports facilities and an area reserved for people with reduced mobility.
Also, if you like street markets, you should bear in mind that a second-hand market is organised here where you can buy all kinds of items every Sunday of the year. Certainly a good option for enjoying Ibiza’s most bohemian atmosphere.
