Ibiza in July: the best things to do on the island

Ibiza’s sunny weather, long days and nightlife are here to stay. And with the arrival of July, we’re already in the middle of summer!

During the month of July, coinciding with the high season, the island is at its peak. There are many leisure and entertainment options on offer for you to enjoy your holidays to the full.

Here are some of the plans for enjoying Ibiza in July.

1. Virgen del Carmen festivities

A good entertaining option is to visit Ibiza’s La Marina neighbourhood during the festivities of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors.

These traditional festivities are held in the middle of the month, around the 16th of July, in the old fishermen’s neighbourhood that you’ll find near the port of Ibiza.

The white houses with their blue windows dress up to honour their patron saint. Various family activities and concerts take place, as well as religious celebrations. The most typical is the procession along the street of the Virgin, which takes her image or icon to a boat and continues the procession out to sea.

2. Enjoy the best club parties

During the months of July and August, Ibiza’s nightclubs have an extensive programme of events and parties. These host the most important deejays in the world, with festive proposals for practically every day, until October or even November, if the party is good enough.

Ibiza during the month of July is perfect for electronic music lovers, who will find a unique atmosphere on the island. Places like Playa d’en Bossa or San Antonio de Portmany are the perfect places to experience the island’s authentic party.

3. Santa Gertrudis, perfect for a quiet holiday

It is true that Ibiza during the month of July is synonymous with beach and partying, but it is also much more. If you want to enjoy a family holiday, Santa Gertrudis is ideal for you. It is a small and quiet town located in the interior of the island, but at the same time full of atmosphere.

In the village square you will find many trendy cafés and restaurants where it is very pleasant to sit and have a drink, especially in the evening and at night.

It is an ideal place to get away from the crowds that are so characteristic of Ibiza during the month of July. There are also other small villages to discover, such as San Agustín, San Carlos and San Lorenzo.

Ibiza also has a wide range of family leisure activities with endless options to do with the little ones.

4. Dreams of Freedom Festival in Ibiza

This long-awaited event takes place on the first weekend of July: an annual festival of music and art that has become a cultural attraction in Ibiza. The Dreams of Freedom project emerged in 2015 with the main objective of promoting the true essence of the island.

It features performances by various national and international bands, as well as art exhibitions, street markets and a gastronomic area.

Beyond the sun and beach, there are many plans that you can carry out in Ibiza during the month of July, whether you are travelling as a couple, with your family or with your group of friends. Have you already thought about what you are going to do?
