The month of April in Ibiza starts with force. The arrival of spring and, with it, the higher temperatures and the landscapes in bloom, make the island gradually wake up from its winter lethargy.
Hotels and restaurants are opening their doors, impatient with the arrival of the first tourists, and the discos give their starting signal with their parties to start the season. Prepared? Let the show begin!
Spring in Es Broll de Buscatell
One of the best places to enjoy the spring landscapes to the fullest is Es Broll de Buscastell, a hidden gem in Ibiza that is worth visiting and that few visitors know about.
It is a valley located in Sant Antoni which extends for 4.5 kilometres, following the course of a small stream. It is an eminently agricultural area where the cultivation plots are located on terraces located on different levels and that receive irrigation water through an Andalusian system of canals, ditches and shelters.
The landscapes here are spectacular and, at every step, you will have the feeling of finding yourself in a unique postcard setting. To get there, you must take the road that goes from Sant Rafel to Santa Agnès. Once you reach the town of Buscastell, one kilometre further on, on the right bank, you will find the path that will take you to Es Broll de Buscatell.
Easter Week in Ibiza
Holy Week in Ibiza, which this year coincides with the month of April, is marked by masses and solemn processions that begin on Palm Sunday and end on Good Friday.
In Ibiza there are seven different brotherhoods that, year after year, are in charge of organising a most complete Easter program. One of the processions that is worthwhile is that of Palm Sunday, which is celebrated with the traditional palm and olive branches, and which runs through the city of Ibiza’s streets, from the Church of Sant Elm, in the neighbourhood of Marina, to the Church of Santo Domingo in Dalt Vila.
We also recommend that you don’t miss out on the procession on Friday of Sorrows, which runs through the steep streets of Dalt Vila, as well as the processions on Holy Monday, Holy Wednesday and Good Friday, in which all the brotherhoods participate.
However, if you are not a follower of religious acts, you can also enjoy other activities in Ibiza, such as live music concerts, parties in beach clubs and many other plans that the island offers you.
Opening of the Ibizan clubs: let’s party!
The month of April in Ibiza coincides with the opening of hotels and restaurants, but also with the opening of most fashionable discos and beach clubs.
This year, like the previous one, the opening of the clubs has been brought forward to the last weekend of April, implying the celebration in style of large parties and events. These parties are very well received, especially by the countless tourists who come to Ibiza from different parts of the world.
During this last weekend of April, several clubs such as Pachá, Amnesia, Ushuaïa or Hï Ibiza, will celebrate their well-known opening parties to kick off the season. Also, if you are a lover of electronic music, you should bear in mind that between April 26 and 28, the island hosts the Music Summit, an international electronic music congress that includes multiple events, parties and interesting talks.
