Es Pujols Market

The Es Pujols market, located in this small town in northern Formentera, is one of six hippy markets on the island.

You can visit it between May and September, in the evening, along the seafront in Es Pujols, just opposite the beach. Here, you’ll find numerous stalls where local artisans showcase their handcrafted creations, from clothing and accessories to jewellery, ceramics, and many other products.

The market opens at 8 pm and closes around midnight. A great option is to take a leisurely stroll before or after dinner, whichever suits you best.

The Es Pujols seafront is a great place for a walk, as it’s free from road traffic and is often quite busy, both day and night. The atmosphere here is fantastic, always marked by a sense of harmony, freedom, and good vibes that you’re sure to fall in love with. A prime example of this is the Flower Power party, held annually, attracting countless tourists eager to have fun and enjoy an unforgettable evening.

Exploring Es Pujols

The village of Es Pujols stands out for its magnificent natural surroundings, a wide range of leisure and entertainment options, and a lively nightlife.

Strolling along the seafront is a great way to discover charming little shops or to enjoy a drink at one of its cafés. If you walk to the end of the promenade, you’ll find access to several quiet, picturesque coves with fishing boats.

Es Pujols beach is an urban beach with fine sand, crystal-clear waters, and an almost pristine appearance. Its calm, shallow waters are perfect for children and for snorkelling. The beach also offers sunbed and parasol rentals, access for people with reduced mobility, and a wide range of water sports, including windsurfing, sailing, and kayaking, among others. Additionally, there are a variety of beach bars, restaurants, and kiosks, ideal for taking a break and relaxing.

If you prefer to visit smaller, quieter coves, a walk along the wooden boardwalks from Es Pujols beach will lead you to Sa Roqueta and Ses Canyes beaches, two fabulous spots that bring you closer to paradise.

Other Markets in Formentera

While Es Pujols is one of the most popular markets in Formentera, the island has several other artisan markets worth visiting.

One of these is the La Mola Artisan Market, considered by many to be the best on the island. With a selection committee in place, the quality and authenticity of the products offered by various internationally renowned artisans are guaranteed. You can buy wooden items, ceramics, silver jewellery, and much more. This market is held on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, on the right-hand side of the road that runs through the village.

Another interesting market is the Sant Ferran Market, an art market that, in addition to offering art and handmade products, also organises a variety of activities throughout the summer season. You’ll find it on the main street every day from 7 pm to midnight, except on Wednesdays and Sundays.
