Discovering Es Pujolets
Just over six kilometres from Sant Josep, within the bay of Cala Tarida, lies Es Pujolets, a hidden gem with two small, hard-to-reach coves that impress visitors with their pristine, clear waters. Nestled at the foot of a cliff and shielded by the Sa Sabata islet, this unmarked cove is almost inaccessible.
One of the coves features a shoreline dotted with fisherman’s huts, built at varying levels on the rocky terrain. Some of these huts even have direct access to the sea.
As you might expect, this secluded spot is primarily frequented by fishermen and by visitors who anchor their boats here to enjoy its serene beauty. Behind the huts, carved into the rock, you’ll also find a cave worth exploring.
The second cove boasts a broader shoreline and sandy seabed. However, access is only possible by sea, as descending the cliff is dangerous and strongly discouraged. Alternatively, you can reach it from nearby Cala Tarida, a family-friendly beach offering a wide range of amenities.
In essence, Es Pujolets is a retreat that, despite lacking services, is perfect for those who value tranquillity and solitude.
Cala Tarida: A Beach with All the Amenities

In contrast to Es Pujolets, Cala Tarida boasts a long sandy beach and attracts a high number of visitors.

How to Reach Es Pujolets
The easiest way to access Es Pujolets is by sea. Alternatively, you can head to Cala Tarida and reach Es Pujolets by walking along the right-hand side of the beach.
There is also the option of descending to the cove via a cliffside wooden staircase, leading down to the fisherman’s huts.
To get there, drive to Sant Josep and take the road towards Cala Tarida. Pass the signs for Cala Tarida and continue to a roundabout. From there, follow the road leading left towards Cala Tarida until you reach a square where you can park your vehicle.
From this point, the journey continues on foot along a dirt path that takes you to the top of the cliff above the fisherman’s huts. From there, the staircase provides access to Es Pujolets.
