If you are looking for an exceptional hideout to discover in Ibiza, you can’t miss out on Es Niu de s’Àguila, a rocky and isolated cove located on the coast of Es Cubells, just a few kilometres from Sant Josep de Sa Talaia. It consists of a beautiful cove of about 100 meters in length, with crystal-clear, turquoise coloured waters. It is made from boulders and coarse gravel from the shores. Given its steep slope towards the sea, you can quickly submerge yourself in its waters without barely touching the ground. Due to its orientation, it is quite protected from the wind, which favours ideal conditions for bathing.

A solitary cove with panoramic views
Would you like to get lost in this solitary beach? Maybe what stands out the most of Es Niu de s’Àguila are its four rocks aligned in front of the coast and that add to its exceptional landscape. Without a doubt, a great attraction for photography lovers.
It’s a pretty unknown beach and hence the amount of visitors is low, even during the summer period. This is partly due to its difficult access and lack of road signals.
Almost at the end and on the right side of this small cove there is an area with numerous cliffs where you will find diverse wood walkways with fabulous views of the sea.
Despite that there are luxurious villas scattered all along the coast of Es Cubells, the beach does not have any type of services, which helps maintain its true essence and authentic atmosphere. If you decide to spend the day there, you must take with you a sunshade and sunscreen since there is not much shade across the whole cove.
Es Niu de s’Àguila, a polemic beach
As happens in many corners of the Ibizan coast located on the seaside, this area has also found itself at the heart of some polemic.
The owners of some of the chalets that are located on the cliff have installed wood walkways, hammocks and other elements so as to declare that it consists of a private beach. However, Es Niu de l’Ànguila is a public area that can be accessed by anyone who wishes to do so.
A legendary name
Es Niu de S’Àguila, located on the foot of Ibiza’s southwestern cliffs, is not a well-known beach, nor is it easily accessible.
The beach is mostly characterised by four rocks that seem to have been strategically placed in front of the coast. The legend has it that an osprey put its nest on the highest of the rocks, giving the cove its name. Despite there being no trace of that legendary eagle, there still remains this fabulous beach that is certainly worth visiting.
How to reach Es Niu de S’Àguila
As mentioned, this beach consists of an isolated cove that is not easily accessible given the lack of signs and road for vehicles.
The only way of reaching it is by walking from Cove de Ses Boques alongside the coast heading south for about ten minutes. Perhaps not being able to reach it by car seems like a disadvantage at first but, in this way, peace and tranquility are guaranteed. It’s definitely a great place to get lost in.
To reach Ses Boques, you need to take the road that starts in front of the Es Cubells Church towards the left for one kilometer. Once you reach the cliff, there is a steep signaled road that takes you down to the beach of Ses Boques. Once you have reached the cove, continue along the right shore. Despite that the road is not particularly difficult, the path is rocky and irregular, which is why we recommend that you bring with you comfortable footwear, preferably a closed one, particularly for walking alongside the last part of the track.
