Bicycle routes in Ibiza

Cycling around Ibiza is a good option for any time of year, especially because the temperatures remain mild.

Most of the cycling routes run between stretches of road and track, and are organised according to four levels of difficulty.

The low-difficulty routes, marked in green, have just a little gradient and can be completed in one or two hours. Those of medium difficulty, in blue, have some sections with a greater gradient and can be completed in approximately four hours. Those of medium-high difficulty are marked in red and have significant slopes. And finally, the high-difficulty sections, marked in black, are only accessible to the most experienced cyclists.

Port des Torrent cycle touring route

This route is included amongst the low-difficulty routes. It runs along a track that goes from the Bay of Sant Antoni to Cala Comte, passing through Cala Bassa.

It is well worth the effort to reach Cala Bassa, as it is undoubtedly one of the best beaches in Ibiza. Its clean, transparent waters of a spectacular turquoise colour will amaze you.

In total, it’s a 12.7-kilometre route that you can complete in just one hour. You’ll be able to reward your efforts with a nice dip in the water upon arrival.

Circular route of Sa Capelleta

With almost 19 kilometres, this is a medium-difficulty route. It goes along the Benimussa path, the Serra chapel, the Church of San Agustín and ends at the Sa Capelleta chapel, also known as Capella d’en Serra.

This is a small chapel located at the top of Puig d’en Serra. You can reach your destination in just over an hour and enjoy beautiful views of the island.

Cycling route to climb up to Sa Talaia

This route will take you to the top of the Sa Talaia mountain in Sant Josep, which is Ibiza’s highest point due to its 475 metres of height above sea level. Due to its steep slopes and length of more than 38 kilometres, the route is very difficult. It will take you approximately three hours to complete.

Other cycling routes

Other mountain bike routes are the Camí Vell de Sant Rafel (easy route of 11 kilometres), Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera (medium circular route, 30 kilometres), Sa Serra Grossa (high difficulty, 33 kilometres) or Cala Jondal (high difficulty circular route, 32.3 kilometres).

If you prefer asphalt, don’t miss out on the Es Porquet route, from San Antonio to Forada; the Es Pobles route, of high difficulty, which runs through the villages of San Miguel, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Antoni and Corona; or the Es Plans route, ideal for contemplating the almond trees in blossom during the months of January and February. In short, Ibiza is one of the best destinations for mountain biking and road cycling enthusiasts. We invite you to discover the island… by pedalling!
