Tagomago is one of the most outstanding islets in Ibiza, along with the islands of Es Vedrà and Sa Conillera. In this case, the island of Tagomago or “Roca de Magó”, in reference to the Carthaginian general Magón Barca, is located at the northeastern end of the island, off Santa Eulària des Riu.
The island is recognised for its great ecological value and has been classified as a Natural Area of Special Interest, a Site of Community Interest and also as a Special Protection Area for Birds.
Although many believe that the island is private property, it should be pointed out that this is not entirely true. There is indeed a private part, corresponding to an estate of 17,000 square metres, in which there is an old renovated house, now converted into a luxury home, whose rent is not suitable for all budgets.

An island of great ecological value
The island of Tagomago, with a length of just over a kilometre and a half, stands out for its high ecological and natural value. It is an important refuge for the reproduction of some migratory birds such as yellow-legged gulls, shags, Balearic shearwaters and the Eleonora falcon, which has its most important colony on this islet.
The island, which in recent years has hosted open-air concerts and other events, has luxury housing, a port, a lighthouse and a beach club. The Tagomago lighthouse, which is just over 86 metres high, was built in 1913 and is now a landmark on the routes from Ibiza to Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.
Due to the evident deterioration of the vegetation in its central area, there are some ecological platforms, such as the well-known Tagomago Parque Natural, which are working to protect this space.
Tagomago, a luxury property for rent
On the private part of the island of Tagomago there is a luxury mansion for rent at exorbitant prices, owned by the Tagomago Island company, managed by the German millionaire businessman Matthias Kühn, best known for being the current partner of Norma Duval.
The house is a modern construction with five double en-suite bedrooms, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, private jetty, helipad and exclusive services such as a private chef, medical assistance and limousine transfers. Famous personalities such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Justin Bieber, among others, have stayed here.
The coastal contour of the island is drawn by a chain of cliffs of great beauty, as well as some small and hidden coves note very frequented, which make this space a unique place.
If you want to access the island, you should know that you can disembark there with complete freedom and drive along the local road to the Tagomago lighthouse. You can also drive around the entire island along its six-metre stretch of coastline that is publicly owned.
In any case, if you prefer to contemplate the island of Tagomago from a distance, you will get one of the most beautiful panoramic views from the Torre d’en Valls or from Campanitx, a watchtower located on the Es Cap Roig peninsula.
