Immerse yourself in one of the most authentic and special corners of Ibiza: Aguas Blancas, known in Ibicenco as “Aigües Blanques”. This beach, with its golden sand and dramatic cliffs, is perfect for those seeking natural beauty, tranquillity and an uncrowded setting. Here we tell you how to get there, what to do in its surroundings and why it is such a unique spot.
A haven of natural charm
Aguas Blancas is a narrow cove of fine golden sand, sheltered by towering cliffs that give it a wild and secluded atmosphere. It stretches for around 300 metres in length and between 10 and 30 metres in width, making it cosy but never overcrowded. Its waters are crystal-clear, shallow at the shoreline and dotted with rocky areas that make it an interesting spot for snorkelling.
On windy days, the waves turn it into a popular place for bodysurfing. It is also common to see visitors covering themselves with natural clay, rich in minerals, as a revitalising treatment for the skin.
This beach is officially nudist, although it welcomes all kinds of visitors: couples, groups of friends, families and travellers looking to unwind.
How to get there and accessibility
Located in the northeast of the island, Aguas Blancas lies close to the charming village of San Carlos. By car, simply follow the signs from the main road linking Santa Eulalia with the north of Ibiza. There is a car park, and from there you must descend on foot via a steep path.
This access can be demanding, so it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility. However, the effort is more than rewarded once you reach the cove.
It is important to note that lying close to the cliffs is not allowed due to the risk of landslides, a safety measure adopted for everyone’s protection.
Who is this beach suitable for?
Aigües Blanques is an excellent choice for those seeking a natural, charming environment away from mass tourism. The relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for switching off, reading a book by the sea or enjoying a peaceful day as a couple or with friends. It is also attractive for nudists, or simply for those who value spaces where freedom and respect for the environment go hand in hand.
That said, those travelling with elderly people or young children should take into account the steep descent and the limited services available.
What to do on the beach and nearby
At Aguas Blancas you can relax under the sun, swim in transparent waters or explore the coastline with a snorkel. On windy days, the waves provide plenty of fun for bodysurfing. The tradition of covering oneself in clay is another experience many visitors return to year after year. The contrast between the blue of the sea, the golden sand and the red cliffs creates an unforgettable landscape.
At the top of the access path, you’ll find beach bars where you can have a drink or a snack, especially in the summer months.
Nearby, you can also visit other beautiful coves such as Cala San Vicente, Cala Llenya or Es Figueral, perfect for continuing your exploration of Ibiza’s northern coast.
Where to stay in Santa Eulalia
